About Treneise Hunt-Smith

Dr. Treneise Hunt-Smith is an experienced and board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of service across primary care, acute care, public health, and forensic nursing. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Delta State University and also holds advanced degrees in Nursing Leadership and Management and Nursing Science. Licensed in Tennessee and Mississippi, she is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals and families throughout the community.

Dr. Hunt-Smith’s background includes extensive work in family medicine, occupational health, women’s health, and trauma-informed care. She has served in both hospital and community settings, managing acute and chronic illnesses, conducting preventive screenings, and providing health education. She is also highly trained in forensic nursing, offering specialized support for survivors of trauma with empathy and meticulous attention to detail.

Recognized for her leadership and clinical expertise, Dr. Hunt-Smith has guided multidisciplinary teams, mentored new providers, and improved patient outcomes through evidence-based practice. She is especially passionate about empowering patients through education, wellness promotion, and preventive care so that they can take an active role in their health.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Hunt-Smith is a member of several professional organizations including the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the American Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She has also been honored with the Nurse Administrator Award by the Tennessee Nurses Association for her leadership and dedication to nursing excellence.

Outside of her professional roles, Dr. Hunt-Smith is committed to advancing public health initiatives and supporting her local community. She continues to blend her clinical skills, leadership experience, and compassionate approach to ensure every patient receives high-quality, individualized care.
